Once Dr. Betz has determined where your subluxations are he will correct them with the technique(s) that best fits the patient’s needs. Before he does any adjustments he will explain what will happen and give you an opportunity to have your questions answered.
Instrument adjusting
The ArthroStim adjustor delivers 12-14 corrective impulse per second to the regions of the spine that are subluxated. The ArthroStim adjustor allows Dr. Betz to adjust patients lying down, seated, standing, walking in place, or in the position that is causing their pain.
Percussion therapy
The percussor is an instrument that delivers front to back force into the soft tissue (muscles, ligaments, fascia, and joints) of the body. The percussor relieves muscle tension, scar tissue, fascial tension, and improves the motions of any joint in the body (spine, hips, knees, shoulders, TMJ, etc.). The percussor feels great and is very relaxing.
Thompson Drop Technique
Our office has specially designed chiropractic “drop tables” that lift up and drop down under the region of the spine being adjusted. The drop is no more than an inch but it allows Dr. Betz to safely and precisely adjust subluxations in the spine.
Diversified technique
When most people think of chiropractic adjustments they think of chiropractors making adjustments that cause a “popping” noise in their spine. Diversified adjusting is that style of adjusting. The adjustments are quick, gentle, and often produce a “pop” in the joint. The pop occurs when the joint capsule, which is full of fluid, expands and a gas bubble “pops” out of the fluid. It is the same pop that occurs when someone cracks their knuckles.
Sacro-occipital technique
Sacro-occipital technique is a technique that focuses on balancing the pelvis. Think of the pelvis as the foundation of your house. Without the pelvis being level and free from torque the rest of the house (spine) will not function normally.
Craniosacral technique
When most people think about the bones of the skull they think about a skull that they have seen in a museum or in their high school science class. The skulls are dried out and do not move. This is not the case with our living skulls. The bones of the skull are connected by joints called sutures and those sutures can become restricted in their movement. Correcting craniosacral imbalances can have a profound effect on your specific health complaints as well as your overall health.
Applied Kinesiology
Applied kinesiology or AK is not a chiropractic technique but more of a method. Applied kinesiology utilizes muscle testing to connect all the clinical findings and determine what should be adjusted to reach the maximum benefits for the patient. Patients are often amazed by the improvements in muscle testing before and after their treatments.
